Author Biography:Jun Lei is an assistant professor of Chinese in the Department of International Studies at Texas A&M University. Her research focuses on the history of sexuality and gender issues represented in twentieth-century Chinese literature, film, and visual media. She co-authored First Step: An Elementary Reader for Modern Chinese (2014) and First Step: Workbook for Modern Chinese (2014).
